ABSTRACT

There are a couple of reasonable ways that we can combine the pillars within the metric. First, we can simply look at whether we assigned a positive, negative, or zero value to each of the pillars and let majority rule. This is the qualitative approach, and it is very simple and basic. If combining the four pillar scores yields more positives than negatives, then our judgment should be to proceed with caution. If the combination yields more negatives than positives, then we should put on the brakes and rethink our action. The following two tables show several generic examples of how we might combine scores to indicate whether to proceed (Tables 8.1 and 8.2).
