ABSTRACT

The term “phosphate ester” is used to describe an enormous range of chemicals, from gases to solids, which vary considerably in their properties and applications. Depending on their composition, they may be used in many different applications-for example, in foodstuffs, toothpaste, fertilizers, as fuel or oil additives, or as insecticides. However, the purpose of this chapter is to examine their use as re-resistant hydraulic –uids.
