ABSTRACT
For the majority of all known gravitationally lensed quasars, the “distance” to the quasar is already well determined from spectroscopy by measuring the cosmological redshift affecting the spectrum of the quasar. On the other hand, the redshift of the much fainter lensing galaxy is usually poorly constrained or even completely unknown.
