ABSTRACT
The chemical and physical surface properties of textile fibres govern friction, wetting behaviour, adsorption ability and the adhesion of particles, pastes and pigments, not only of the fibre itself, but of the whole woven or non-woven textile structure. Thus, appropriate techniques to secure a certain macroscopic behaviour of textiles in further processing, as well as in use, form an important part of textile finishing.
