ABSTRACT
Chapter 3 describes which data are required for assessing a borrow area and designing a reclamation area. A brief description of the most common methods of data collection can be found in Appendix B, “Field and laboratory tests”. Some of these data collection methods will also be discussed in other chapters of this manual, where appropriate. The flow chart shows the structure of this chapter and where to find information corresponding to various items.
