ABSTRACT
A museum, historic site, archive, or library must be prepared to deal with medical emergencies, fires, gas leaks, severe weather and natural disasters, bomb threats, and hostage situations. Most of these situations occur without warning and institution staff must be trained in how to respond quickly and take appropriate actions. Training should be documented and updated as required.
