ABSTRACT
There are several basic reasons for the instrumentation of soil constructions and soil/structure interaction problems:
a) Soil and water are the two most significant natural masses involved in civil engineering, approximately 20 kN/m3 and 10 kN/m3 respectively, and loads generated can be very large.
