ABSTRACT
Biomass Biomass is the renewable and biodegradable organic matter generated through life processes. †e enormous quantity of biomass produced annually by land and aquatic plants must be utilized eectively for the future need of the world. It is in this context that the biomass conversion technologies assume great importance. Biomass is the main noncommercial source of energy. In the future, with the inherent scarcity of fossil fuels, biomass is supposed to play an important role in the commercial sector as well.
