ABSTRACT
On the basis of the mass fraction of Se in coal, China could be divided into three zones: high Se areas (>5 mg/kg), including Chongqing, Anhui, Jiangsu and Hubei (except in Enshi); low Se areas (2-5 mg/kg), including Jilin, Guizhou, Yunnan, Sichuan, Shandong, Shanxi, and Hunan. If the investigation was based on the industrial manufacture process, the electrolytic manganese enterprises exhaust lots of Se, mainly in Chongqing, Hunan, Guangxi, Ningxia, and Hubei. Additionally, firms extracting Se from copper anode mud and making special glass were also investigated. Based on above investigations, the counter measures were proposed in this study.
