ABSTRACT
Distribution: Arctic waters of both the Atlantic and Pacic Oceans
Habitat: Maintains a close association with ice throughout its life
Description: It is typically light to dark gray, with a darker streak running down
brown face and fore ippers. However, coloration is highly variable, and some individuals may be differing shades
holes and short, backward-pointing hind ippers. Maximum length and weight of adults are 2.6 m and 360 kg, respectively.
