ABSTRACT
Natural silk is broadly classified into domesticated silk and wild silk. Under ‘domesticated silk’ we have mulberry silk. Tropical Tasar, Oak Tasar, Muga and Eri silk fall under the category of non-mulberry (wild or Vanya) silk. India is the only country producing all the above-said five varieties of silk.
