ABSTRACT
This chapter is focused on specialty areas related to MDI systems, to include notifications, alerts associated with technical and clinical medical device data and clinical uses of real-time medical device data. Also discussed are the differences between aperiodic and periodic data collection and the implication of these differences on HL7 messages.
