You need to know the essential tools that top-notch journalists use to gather information, applying them in a structured way to produce articles with high credibility. This chapter will introduce you to a methodology for news reporting based on analyzing documents, making observations and talking to sources. It will then describe how that methodology works by integrating the information that you uncover in a way that will help you produce compelling stories, whether you are working on a routine assignment or a major project.
