ABSTRACT
All thinkers can be located in a multitude of contexts, often engaged simultaneously in more than one debate. At any one time, there are multiple wars of ideas raging between intellectuals, classes, genders, races, nations, cultures and civilizations. Ideas are not merely the weapons in such battles, they often comprise the theatre of conflict itself; people not only fight about or with ideas but also to appropriate them and to control them from within.
