ABSTRACT
Like any ethnographically-based research, this book condenses a journey. It was a path through a diverse and conflictive reality which was possible thanks to the effort and commitment of people who helped shape decision-making throughout the research process. It was also a theoretical and methodological journey: as new questions emerged from the data, I considered discourse analysis, interactional sociolinguistics, conversation analysis and linguistic landscape studies, among others.
