ABSTRACT

Every professional organization has a Code of Ethics. Professionals need to know what it contains, abide by the code, and practice accordingly. A code of ethics directs internal and external behaviors. The Association of Educational Therapy is very diligent in monitoring that members are operating within its Code of Ethics. There are many keystones in administering standardized assessment instruments. Each aspect is critical to the process and requires training and practice. Publishers separate assessment instruments into three categories. They are rated as Level A, B, and C tests. Educational therapist with a Master’s degree and graduate-level training in assessment may purchase and use B level tests and C level tests are generally cognitive instruments and additional advanced training and documentation is required to purchase, administer and interpret these.
