ABSTRACT

This chapter examines ways in which a neoliberal-centric regulation of the subject permeates the institution of education, how the discipline of psychology facilitates regulation, mitigation and remedy, and lastly, how the theme of social justice serves as an impetus to anticipated reform. Shifting the focus to neoliberalism, it becomes evident that contemporary society is in a state of social decay due to the greed, corruption, and apathy of colonization that currently manifests in neoliberalism. Consider examples of subjective qualia such as describing the feelings a person experiences when viewing the color blue, listening to a symphony, or performing a rigorous physical activity. Subjectivity is colonized through inappropriate action and inaction. Interpreting the events would require critical analysis of systemic flaws and their effect on subjectivity and social justice by those who possess the power to disrupt the positive feedback loop.
