ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book explains about the transformation in the Chinese newspaper industry and associated changes in organisational management and content production at metropolitan newspaper publishers. It examines how the two metropolitan newspaper companies exploit the value of their digital productivity in the new businesses exceeding the traditional scope of newspaper industry, and how they build up new business models to sustain the media convergence in the long term. The circumstance of the Chines newspaper industry is exceptional in that state policy plays a very influential role in shaping company strategies. The national strategy of media convergence constructed a supportive environment for the growth of the Chinese newspaper industry, in particular for the development orienting to the Internet industry. The violation is forbidden by the governmental regulations and the professional ethics.
