ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses the findings concerning the influence from main sources of information on industrial end-users. It examines the findings on the Multi-Sectoral Interaction among sources of information and the media. The chapter offers data-driven empirical study of the translation, adaptation and diffusion of clean energy production and consumption discourses in China and Japan. It argues that the levels of direct effects from different sources of information in the enhancement of the visibility of different socio-industrial sectors. The chapter describes the social accountability attribution process that underscores the diffusion of renewable energy discourses related to lifestyle/behavioural changes and societal/national visions of change. It also examines the set of analytical tools to enable cross-national comparative studies of the social diffusion and integration of Sustainable Development Goals related to clean energy consumption and production, social and industrial innovation and lifestyle transition towards sustainable life in China and Japan.
