ABSTRACT

As part of the religious education-flect project, the participants were asked to include a Worldview Profile for each child. The profile consisted of the following frameworks; Personal Identity, Values and Principals, Big Questions, Worldview Dimensions and Reality and Knowledge. At the beginning of the assignment, the children were quite confident describing themselves, their home life, friends, school, their likes and dislikes. They also were equally happy describing what they thought was right and wrong, good and bad behaviour. At the end of each session, the children used traffic light cards to show how they felt about the task; red for difficult, amber for needed some thought, green for confident. By providing the pupils with time and encouragement, they were able to explore their thoughts and beliefs in depth.
