ABSTRACT

The term Ch’ŏngnokp’a 청록파 (靑鹿派) describes three poets – Cho Chihun (1920–1968), Pak Tuchin, and Pak Mokwŏl – who debuted through Munjang < 문장 > in 1940. These three poets, who all entered the poetry scene around the same time through Munjang《문장》, happened to have similarities in poetic style. They each used nature as the main background for their poems, which were written in a traditionally prosodic style. For this reason, they are known as Ch’ŏngnokp’a, or Chayŏnp’a.
