ABSTRACT

The realities of today’s education profession are brought to light, and education malpractices are juxtaposed against social justice and evidence-based practices. Teacher shortages, school psychologist shortages, and other staffing issues have an impact on decisions made at schools and potentially have an impact on the delivery of services to students and access to evidence-based programming. Education leaders must be comfortable with controlled chaos and must invest in resources to build a solid foundation for multi-tiered systems of support. A solid foundation must be built in alignment with the LIQUID (Leadership, Implementation, Quality control, Universality, Implementation, Data-based decision making) Model and must ensure that the program is implemented with fidelity and that triangulation is used in making data-based decisions. Oftentimes, overcorrection can be used to reinforce and reteach practices at the school level. and a growth model can be used to measure student growth over time in response to the research-based interventions provided.
