ABSTRACT

The ultimate goal of Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) program development is a solid foundation poised for sustainability, with landmarks in place to support implementation and growth. The following four components will help guide the journey: infrastructure, budgeting, the master schedule, and intervention block scheduling. Existing resources may be reallocated, with the emphasis on establishing structures that support intervention implementation. MTSS extension opportunities are explored to give teams examples of flexible scheduling options to fit it all in. Leadership fidelity checks are a mandatory component to ensure curriculum service delivery is implemented as directed ensuring validity, reliability, and fidelity of instructional practices. The concept of unintended consequences in program implementation is examined. The LIQUID (Leadership, Implementation, Quality control, Universality, Implementation, Data-based decision making) Model is explained in-depth and how those variables have an impact on program fruition. An MTSS planning and implementation timetable is offered.
