ABSTRACT
What comes after norms? After norms the road branches. One path leads towards possible universal laws of translation. Another path takes us into history and ends up asking questions about translation and cultural identity, why we think about translation the way we do, and how we can trace the provenance of these ideas. Let us explore both directions.
