ABSTRACT

247 Summary

The speed of the 24/7 information clickstream has shone a spotlight on a growing need to practice ethical journalism. With content spreading across social media like wildfire, working ethically has never been more important. In this chapter we explore principles of ethical journalism and how mojos can be more ethical in their dealings with the public and representation of information. We introduce a set of guidelines for ethical journalism: accuracy and truth, compassion, humanity, conflict of interest and accountability. I speak with Aidan White, founder and former director of the Ethical Journalism Network, who provides a Break-out Box.
