ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we first have a look at different methodologies and approaches to the collection and analysis of data adopted in previous studies of communication strategies in the ELF communication context. Then, we discuss the nature of our corpus and provide a detailed description of the participants, their selection criteria, the groups of participants, setting and more information about the topic selection. I further identify the methodological approach applied in this study, including information about the instrument of data collection and the procedures followed in order to collect and analyze the data as well as the framework used for data analysis and transcription procedures which follows in the remainder of the book.
