ABSTRACT

The purpose of this chapter is to summarize the findings presented in the previous chapters and conclude the book. In this chapter, we first look at the overview of the study and then we discuss the innovations of this study, like context, analytical framework and the five new types of communication strategies which I have identified in the present study, namely, self-initiated self-preempted clarification, synonymification, exemplification, facilitation and other-initiated assistance-seeking incomplete sentence/question strategies with their definitions. Further examples of extraction for each communication strategy (CS) have been provided in this chapter as well. Employing these strategies help interlocutors to interact collaboratively and provide more information to one another. Then this chapter ends with directions for future research in the relevant areas.
