Developing a computerised system for large-scale computer adaptive testing

Computer adaptive tests (CATs) offer an alternative to assessment which may be useful and powerful if designed and developed correctly. In chapter, the development of a large-scale computer adaptive testing system is discussed in detail. The actual computational considerations are provided. Performance benchmarks are discussed as well as the necessary design requirements. The design logic is also elaborated on.
