ABSTRACT
We all have moments in the classroom that catch us by surprise: moments when a student’s response feels waaayyy off base, the path we created to gently guide students into productive dialogue seems to be leading somewhere entirely different, or we need to find a way to help students start the conversation (when we assumed that race was going to organically come up based on the course materials) and we have no idea what to do next.
