ABSTRACT

In this final chapter, the implications of the findings for EFL pedagogy and ELTE are critically appraised and practical suggestions are offered as to how teachers can successfully mediate the use of NS forms of expression, where their use is warranted. In order to illustrate the arguments made, exemplars from the corpus analysis are drawn on. Some conclusions are then drawn as to the contribution made by this book to the suitable target Englishes debate and to the advancement of corpus-based applied linguistics.
