ABSTRACT

Impressively enough for a pre-social media world, the word had spread from offline media to some of the noted online media sites and publicity of the some events led vast audiences online. Streaming media has not only affected consumers. In its course of upheaval around the world it has seen off the bricks-and-mortar businesses that thrived on the physical delivery of entertainment. Given the ability for Hollywood studios to re-imagine a whole new distribution platform, streaming media has allowed those studios and consumers to get connected immediately, by-passing the middleman. The interactive nature of the internet has paved the way for media analytics by a host of companies. Successful entertainment and marketing professionals have evolved their understanding and adapted their approach but not everyone gets a chance to learn, and self-learning has certainly not been the best way to understand streaming media from the start.
