ABSTRACT

Video compression concerns the use of compression technology to help compress large video files without compromising video quality noticeably. Audio playback technology has evolved from the humble beginnings of just a mono playback experience – a single track that contained everything –to the more sophisticated stereophonic experience, where two tracks are played from left and right speakers respectively and produce an overlapping experience that is more impactful than mono. In streaming media, audio is also stored in the motion picture experts group-4 container format. Like video, audio also uses compression standards and the most common one is called Advanced Audio Coding. Since the mid-2000s, the online video platforms has become a buzzword for anyone planning to launch streaming media services that resemble what YouTube or Netflix does. Metadata is a mystery to most people. At its most basic, metadata is information about a movie or TV programme that is visible or invisible to viewers.
