ABSTRACT

The art of user interface design should focus on the sole aim to help the end user enjoy TV better by finding the shows that they love as quickly as possible. Product management is critical since it comes at the intersection of business needs, end-user needs and technological feasibility. Registration is used when the end user identifies him or herself to the service and is granted an entitlement to watch the streaming media videos. Three things changed the experience. Firstly, the advent of Pay TV increased the availability of many more channels, introducing the terms channel surfing and couch potato into modern culture. Secondly, the availability of the internet, not just for streaming media, but helping Pay TV users in making content selection easier. Thirdly, the rise of smartphones and tablets also allowed for companion devices to be brought into the living room to help control the TV.
