ABSTRACT

An intent to change the organizational culture toward justice needs to be an organizational and personal goal for supervisors committed to social change. Institutions replicate systems of oppression through supervision, and our identity-conscious supervision practice must be to change the system. Supervisors must learn how to develop strategies and patience in pushing for broad organizational changes while still utilizing their agency to shift the culture within their spheres of influence. Managers utilizing organizing principles as a strategy to develop coalitions move culture change initiatives strategically forward.
