ABSTRACT

We reiterate the need for us to intentionally create communities that bring identity-consciousness to the organizational level to influence our institutional cultures toward equity and justice. Institutional change and identity-consciousness are interdependent with the components from the individual (Chapters 2–5) and supervision levels (Chapters 6–8). As many examples in the book demonstrate, we cannot influence institutional change without also fostering change in our relationships, practices, and communities. Continuing our reflective practices, managing power dynamics, and showing up courageously in our identity-conscious supervision sustains our commitment.
