ABSTRACT
This chapter contains some guiding principles of fiscal policy in Islamic economy with special reference to zakah and emphasizes the issues of eradicating unemployment, distribution of wealth, economic stability and economic growth. It also discusses the importance of zakah in poverty alleviation and the fulfillment of basic needs, if implemented in letter and in spirit.
