ABSTRACT
In this chapter, a meaningful foundation for an Islamic methodological worldview of economics is developed, and through this, a generalized foundational worldview of the Islamic socio-scientific field is explained. A comparative approach is then followed to understand the subject matter and the goals of Islamic economics vis-à-vis conventional mainstream economics. It also develops the foundational epistemological (methodological) worldview in the light of the Qur’an and Sunnah. On the basis of these initiating and foundational areas of economic reasoning, the central focus of Tawhid as the moral law and its dynamics in the evolutionary learning system of inter-causal relations between the good things of life are discussed.
