ABSTRACT

Chapter 8 builds on the concept of crisis capacity by focusing on the employee experience with crises and in their organizations in order to argue that if an organization wants to be able to respond to crises effectively, it must critically reflect on developing an organizational culture that is conductive to agile crisis response. Therefore, the chapter discusses social responsibility within the context of crisis capacity and explores the role that a good culture and reputation can have for crisis capacity. Further, the chapter also focuses on the importance of viewing employees as internal stakeholders an investing in developing their hard and soft skills as building capacity for the organization overall.
