ABSTRACT

This chapter will take you through the process of developing a journal article from your identified assets. We will look at how to find a suitable journal, how to avoid desperate and predatory journals, how to plan and write your article, and how to deal with reviewers' comments. We will also consider what to do when a journal finds you and how to research journal submission protocols.

The chapter is full of practical tips on how to make your article more appealing to your chosen journal, how to deal with pre-submission feedback, how to submit your article to a journal, and how to work with reviewers' comments. We illustrate this through our PIPs and finish with practical exercises to help you on your way to your first or your next journal article.
