ABSTRACT

In this final chapter of the book we explore in detail some of the topics identified in the previous analytic chapters. Specifically, we consider institutional barriers to men as primary caregivers, the role of the media as a potential driver for change, accounts of masculinity in the context of carework with a focus on embodiment, and the problems of language inherent to the study of men as primary caregivers. In so doing, this chapter maps out a number of key areas of study worthy of attention into the future with regards to men who provide primary care to their children.
