ABSTRACT

Chapter 3 focuses on the emerging EMI research themes that stem from attitudinal studies of non-native English-speaking lecturers to EMI. Impact of factors such as age, teaching experience, and language skills are outlined, and differences found across faculty boundaries are briefly discussed. Though many lecturers feel positive about the increase of the use of English and find ways of coping, EMI does generate a range of severe challenges and dilemmas for some lecturers and the personal voices of the lecturers presented gives a clear insight into the strong emotions and attitudes evoked by EMI.
