ABSTRACT
The basic washing-line part of the laundry environment is very quick and easy to put up. The laundry is most suitable for setting up before the students enter. However there is some scope for involving the students in helping to set up the washing lines beforehand. This chapter provides instructions for setting up the laundry environment as well as the ways to make use of the laundry. It presents an example of how the laundry environment has been used. In the example, the washing serves to enclose the space, masking any distractions on the walls of the hall and giving a sense of intimacy for the participants during the interactions of the performance.
