ABSTRACT

The snow queen’s castle environment can either be set up for the students to come into, or they can be involved in building the snow queen’s castle out of cardboard boxes beforehand. This chapter provides information on equipment needed and instructions for creating the snow queen’s castle environment. It discusses the ways to make use of snow queen’s castle. This environment is well suited to student involvement in making it. Students can create a soundscape to represent the landscape of ice and snow using percussion instruments, their voices, and tearing the newsprint. The chapter also presents an example of how this snow queen’s castle environment has been used.
