ABSTRACT

The home on the street environment is most suitable for setting up before the students arrive. This chapter provides information on equipment needed and instructions for creating the home on the street environment. It discusses the ways to make use of home on the street environment. The chapter presents an example of how this environment has been used. In this example, an opportunity was provided to make a very open invitation to students to contribute possibilities, to make suggestions, without fear of judgment. For the environment in the example, the setting and props used were just the blanket and bag. The bag had in it an apple, a bit of paper with a picture of a house and two people crudely drawn on it, a pencil, a brooch and a few foreign coins.
