ABSTRACT

Digital projects intended for online presentation need a framework to integrate resources and interface. Several platforms specifically designed for the digital humanities provide one solution. Custom building provides another. Web publishing should be suited to the research objectives and profile of the project. Common genres include repositories and online collections, archives focused on a topic or theme, museum or library collections, articles, and exhibits. An additional area of activity and expertise focuses on resources and platforms that offer additional support for digital research. The resources assist data sharing. The platforms create work environments. Both make use of frameworks for optimizing interoperability (reuse of assets and code across projects and sites) and collaborative work.
