ABSTRACT
This chapter invites the reader to think about why a researcher might choose to align their work with digital humanities, including institutional priorities, stakeholder interests, and the enhanced ability to share ideas about their area of expertise. Motivations for beginning digital humanities work that are discussed include finding new ways to answer questions and solve problems, building on digital work you are already doing, sharing ideas more widely, the pivot to online learning and research, and opportunities for the future.
