ABSTRACT

Now that you’ve learned the basic parts of a grant application, read tips for crafting a better proposal, and learned how to write a good final report, you’re ready to start writing a winning grant application of your own. Before you do, however, consider these questions and answer them truthfully:

Do you have a plan to evaluate the success of the project?

Have you carefully read the application guidelines?

Do you have experience with the project you’re proposing?

Do you have partners in this endeavor?

Are your students involved?

Do you have a story to tell?

Is your idea actionable?

Is your idea a good fit for the grant program?

Are you OK with rejection?

Do you have a plan for continuing the project after the grant funds are spent?
