ABSTRACT

All grant applications ask for at least some organizational ¬information. First want to know who will do the activity, who will assist, and who will benefit. This part of the grant proposal may also ask about teacher's school demographics—things like teacher's school percentage of English language learners or the free or reduced-price lunch percentage. If the application asks for the information in a narrative answer, be specific. For example, it's not very helpful to say "many" of the students in teacher's "not very big" school are from "high-poverty" families. Instead, say 70% of the 400 students in teacher's K-5 school come from families with incomes limited enough to qualify for free or reduced-price lunch. Learning all this information about teacher's school and students will also make teacher's a more informed teacher. Too often, individual educators are so busy teaching their own students they fail to learn much about the wider environment, their school.
