ABSTRACT

Of course, it's important to submit a well-written grant application, but if the project idea teachers are writing about isn't a good one in the first place, they will be merely gilding a lily. The grant writers hadn't obeyed the application rules—and these were proposals written by teachers, who, of all people, should understand the importance of rules. Even though most grant proposals are filed online, the application is often available to download offline. This will give the teacher an overall idea of what's required before starting. It will also allow them to complete their answers to the questions to submit later online. Reading the application rules will help them to save time because they won't be filing useless grant applications. Grant programs sometimes offer webinars to help potential applicants. These are useful; teachers should attend them or view them later if they're archived and teacher can't attend at the designated time.
