ABSTRACT

This chapter describes the tools of leadership needed to create that productive culture. This model and the tools described within it have been used in many different countries and many different types of organisations across all sectors since the 1990s. For many years and in many organisations Systems Leadership has been used to help people create a socially cohesive productive culture. The purpose of the culture is to achieve the purpose of the organisation rather than building an organisation simply to sustain itself. Essentially the model is based upon a gap analysis. That is, it describes where we would like to be, compares that with where we are now and then looks at how we can actually get there. Schools have very significant symbols; for example, many if not all schools have a badge, logo and uniform. These are very important in conveying messages both within and outside the school as to the state of the school.
